Description
I created this large artwork with recycled paper and thick pieces of broken recycled mirror securely affixed to hard canvas with industrial-strength glue. It is about 51.5cm x 40.5cm x 1cm (20.3″ x 16″ x 0.4″) in size, weighs 1.84kg (4.05 lbs) and is unframed. It is probably best to frame it if you want to hang it, as the canvas is rather thin (about 4mm or 3/8″). You might not want to hammer a nail into it, lest the mirror pieces get broken or the nail goes right through the canvas. Also, because it is heavy, it would need the support of a heavy-duty frame. I have titled this piece “Under the Big Top”, because the colours make me think of being at the circus. It is signed and numbered on the back.
Note: Please take care when handling because of the sharp edges of the mirror shards.
Note #2: Please be aware that this is a large and heavy piece, so be sure to have the appropriate materials to keep it securely hung to a wall.
It is my hope that creating this beautiful work of art will negate the many years of bad luck I accrued from all those broken mirrors, lol. And may it bring you good luck and years of fortune as well!
If you have any questions about this piece, please send me a message.
Thank you for your interest in my art!
