This thread conditioner weights on average 34 grams or 1 1/4 ounce. The weight may vary slightly as each piece is hand poured and trimmed. The size is about 7.3cm x 4.6cm or 2 7/8″ x 1 3/4″
You may request your thread conditioner with or without a satin ribbon hanging loop. Any of my beeswax thread conditioners would make beautiful hanging or shelf display pieces anywhere in your home and with the satin hanging loop, they could be used as Christmas tree ornaments! They make a lovely gift year round which can be delivered direct to your recipient.
All the beeswax thread conditioners from The Busy Bee Needlework are pure and 100% natural with no additives of any kind. All of the beeswax I use for my products is from our family run beekeeping operation with hives located in scenic rural Saskatchewan, Canada.
We take great pride in knowing that the wax we use is just pure beeswax made by our own bees! We do not bleach our wax to whiten it with chlorine, hydrogen peroxide, charcoal or carbon particles. These harsh products used to lighten beeswax also degrade it’s quality and reduce its natural scent. Our filtering process just uses plain water and gentle heat to wash the wax clean. A paper filter may be used as a final step to ensure no tiny bee parts or plant debris are left in the finished product. Our gentle process preserves the wonderful qualities and especially that heavenly, faint honey scent that only known pure beeswax has!
Pure beeswax will develop bloom over time, that’s your guarantee it’s !00% natural beeswax! Bloom occurs when natural oils in the wax rise to the surface of the wax. It looks like a white powdery coating. Some people love the vintage look of bloomed beeswax, but if you don’t like the antiqued look that bloom gives, simply gently rub it off with a soft cloth or your hand.
Beeswax is naturally a beautiful shade of yellow. It does vary in color intensity from a mellow yellow to vibrant buttercup yellow. The variants in the color reflect in part what the bees were collected in the way of pollen and propolis and what flowers the bees were visiting while the wax was being produced.
Thread conditioner helps strengthen thread and smooth embroidery floss or hand sewing thread for easier stitching with less hand fatigue with reduced tangling and knotting. Great for any threaded needlework project such as embroidery, cross-stitch, quilting, hand sewing and button sewing, beaded jewelry making or stuffed toy making. To use, gently pull thread over the wax once or twice and then gently pull thread between your fingers to warm and evenly distribute the beeswax along the thread.
