A set of twin girls who are very dear to my heart asked me to make them gloves that look like friendship bracelets. I had absolutely no idea, but the idea percolated for a while and the Latvian Braid kept invading my brain. So these are my Friendship Gloves, inspired by friendship bracelets. The color-work is mosaic, which I feel is a fun and magical way to work in color. 1 skein in each colour will complete both versions of gloves. 1 for you and one for a friend!
This is an intermediate pattern written for 3 sizes; Teen, Ladies and Men’s . You will work in the round on 2.75mm needles. The skills are well explained including an illustrated Latvian braid tutorial. The colour work in mosaic and charted. You will also need stitch markers and stitch holders. The gauge is 32 sts and 42 rows / 10cm. Two 183 metre skeins of each colour will complete 2 pairs of gloves.
