Do you remember corking when you were a child? making those long knit cords? and then making them into hotpads!?
I had trouble finding a corking set (some call them “knitting nancy”) for my grandkids. We’d found some made of plastic but the little knobs broke off. Then I found one at a yard sale – a dutch one from the Netherlands just like I had as a child! My husband told me he could make some just like it. So he did! we bought some dowelling and he cut it to size, drilled the centres with his lathe, added the knobs/staples, sanded and re-sanded, and finished them (boy, that makes it sound easy! – it wasn’t).
The kit comes with printed instructions and include the hand-crafted wooden corker (knitting spool), yarns, and a cloth project bag. NOTE: NO needle or hook is included.
