Handmade beaded jewelry by Rama in Duncan, BC, on Vancouver Island.
Every bead came home with me from Ghana. Some are recycled glass beads from Krobo, where bottles are ground to powder, fired in clay moulds and polished by the artisans there. Others are tiny glass seed beads I weave into fringe and patterns.
I grew up in northern Ghana, and every pair is made by my own hands on Vancouver Island, one at a time, and usually only once.
