Description
This Nova Scotia wood map is made from locally sourced spruce/fir. The unique tooth marks on the wood appeals to the rustic nature of the project. The wood map itself is hand cut from spruce/fir lumber, cut on a local circle saw mill years ago, then recovered and recycled for these art projects. A hanger is mounted on the back. The double layer of shadow trees is hand cut from thing, luan plywood and finished with a latex paint.
We source wood from local, private land owners. We mill the lumber on our sawmill. The boards are left outdoors to naturally weather. We occasionally use thin plywood (luan) to provide stability to certain projects. All of our maps are hand handed, cut with a scroll saw, guided by hand. Truly hand crafted, no CNC machined in our workshop.
