Description
- The base of the pillow case is hand crocheted with a hooking flap that secures it to the pillow. The base colour can be customized to any generic colour or common yarn colour blend. It will generally measure approximately 20cm by 20cm by 10cm, the general size for an accent pillow or large throw pillow. These proportions may vary slightly based on how large the embroidery design is. It may be made out of acrylic yarn, wool, or a blend, depending on texture, colour, and availability.
- The design on both sides of the pillow is hand embroidered using a grid layout. The designs are based on a prompt from the purchaser, which will be fulfilled using an original design from Between Stitches. The purchaser can explain a unique request, or can request that it look similar to a personal picture or iconic image, but it won’t be identical. This embroidery may be done with acrylic yarn, wool, or a blend depending on texture, colour, and availability.
- A plain pillow which is NOT created by Between Stitches and which fits the pillow case will be provided. This can be excluded upon request.
The pillow and pillow case will be hand-washed before shipping. It is highly recommended that when the pillow case should be washed, it is hand-washed or gently machine-washed in cold water and with gentle detergent.
- Colour Selection: select a single colour for the base of the pillow. Most complex designs look good against a white or light-coloured background. If your design is going to be monochrome (black and white, gold and silver, or a single colour) then complementary colours will usually look good.
- Accent Colour Selection: select a colour palette for the pillow embroidery. You can select from a range of monochrome choices (although complex designs will usually be layered with multiple shades of that colour; for instance, if you select “green” then the embroidery may be done with with light and dark greens for contrast). “True Colours” means that you want a range of colours from the original design.
- Personalized Info: use this space to describe what you’d like embroidered with as much detail as possible (and while distinguishing between side #1 and #2). Almost any icon, simple silhouette, or similar design can be accomplished.
