Description
The wool I use for these brooches comes from Canadian sheep farms. I hand dye the wool, heat setting it and then create these delightful brooches by felting the wool with a needle. By the way I handle the needle I am able to manipulate the wool into a specific shape. I love detail, colour, wool and of course sheep, so doing this process is definitely a labour of love! Once I finished with the wool felting part, I sometimes use embroidery threads to sew or felt in more detail. I’ve securely sewn a brooch pin on the back and my label.
This brooch looks much like the hills behind our old farmhouse in the spring with the lush green and gorgeous blue sky and our sheep. The brooch has two sheep depicted and is in a circle shape Makes a wonderful shawl pin, especially for a beautifully hand knit shawl. It also looks wonderful on a sweater or coat or to adorn a scarf or hat. It measures approximately 2 3/4″ around.
Made in my smoke free, clean, happy place, with love. Like snowflakes, no two pieces of my work will ever be identical.
