Description
This is an original unframed oil-on-board painting that measures 8 inches by 10 inches by 1/8 inch.
The scene portrays the Old Venetian Harbour in Chania as glimpsed through a window inside the Maritime Museum of Crete. This museum, which we visited in February of 2020, showcases the naval history of Crete from ancient times up through World War 2 and the modern era. It has some interesting if somewhat old-fashioned exhibits and is housed in part of the imposing Firkas Fortress, constructed in 1629.
Painted in 2021 using Winsor & Newton oils on an gessoed board. Note that this painting is shipped unframed and the accompanying photo of the framed painting is for illustrative purposes only. This painting fits easily into standard 8″ x 10″ frames.
