Description

This is an original unframed oil-on-masonite painting that measures 8 inches by 10 inches by 1/8 inch.

The scene portrays a picturesque window in the basement of Edinburgh Books in the West Port/Grassmarket area of Edinburgh, Scotland. The window is set deep into the stone foundations and the sill has been made into a sort of desk or work area, decorated with a vase of dried flowers. This bookshop was one of several we visited in June of 2018, and it was fun to poke around the different rooms filled with stacks of books. We even purchased a few. These sort of character-filled bookshops are very hard to find back home these days.

Painted using Winsor & Newton oils on an archival gessoed masonite. Note that this painting is shipped unframed and the accompanying photo of the framed painting is for illustrative purposes only. This painting fits easily into standard 8″ x  10″ frames.
